New Therapy Group for Adult Male Survivors of Sexual Trauma

It is estimated that 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before age 18. Typically, this occurs within a long-term, on-going relationship, that escalates over time, usually lasting about 4 years. As adults, these men may experience severe depression and other symptoms associated with post-traumatic stress (PTSD), and have self-destructive behaviors, including out-of-control behaviors with sex or alcohol and other drug use. Often, these men choose not to seek help.

The Center for Relationship and Sexual Health (CRSH) now offers a therapy group for all individuals who identify as male and are survivors of childhood sexual trauma. This group meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 7:30 pm to 9 pm at CRSH and you are welcome to join at any time as the group is ongoing.

Therapy includes:

–       Impact of sexual trauma

–       Healing symptoms of PTSD

–       Individualized treatment goals

–       Therapy completion plan

To schedule your initial intake, please contact the office at (248) 399-7447 or speak with your current CRSH therapist about the possibility of joining the group soon.
